Regioselective synthesis of substituted rubrenes

Excellent method to generate rubrenes

The manuscript entitled “Regioselective Synthesis of Substituted Rubrenes” is nicely written and excellent piece of work. Manuscript describes a method to generate Rubrene derivatives using a Diels Alder reaction and Phenyl lithium addition as key steps. There was no synthetic procedure explore before this for such a important molecule in organic electronics. I have extensively used this procedure, later on I modified it according to need of my target molecules. Author used collumn chromatography but it was not possible to get the purity I wanted rapidly so I employed sublimation to purify these conjugated molecules and it worked beautifully.
