With manganocenes as starting materials, stable mononuclear paramagnetic alkynyl and vinylidene and binuclear bis(vinylidene) and bis(carbyne) complexes with (RC 5 H 4 )Mn(dmpe) fragments (R = H, Me; dmpe = 1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane) have been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic (NMR, EPR, near-IR) and electrochemical measurements as well as X-ray diffraction studies and DFT calculations.
